Booking Space
Security & Clean-Up Refundable Deposit
- $100 for new groups/individuals
- $50 for regulars
- Double for weekly or monthly arrangements
The above security / clean-up deposit must be made in order to confirm a booking with the Rudolf Rocker Cultural Centre. In most cases, the deposit will simply be applied towards the agreed-upon rental fee for use of the venue (see below). However, in the event of last minute cancellations, damage to the gallery, display walls, or venue equipment, as well as excessive post-event or post-exhibit mess, the Rocker reserves the right to withhold all or part of the deposit at its discretion.
Basic Rental Fees
- $40 / hour (daytime)
- $275 / day (9am – 5pm; or 6pm – 2am)
- $1500 / week (8 hours per day; either daytime or nighttime slots, as above; 24 hour access with temporary key and alarm code can be arranged for an extra $200).
- $2750 / 2 weeks
- $4800 / month
NOTE: Rental fees cover Gallery expenses such as rent, venue infrastructure (such as sound and projection equipment), artist honoraria, as well as a full-time Gallery coordinator.
Reduced Fees or Sliding Scale
The above rental fees may be cut in half if the proposed event or exhibit is 1) not being used as a fund-raiser, and/or 2) falls within the Rocker’s criteria for Gallery sponsorship. Please be advised that this reduced fee is not automatic, and must be negotiated at the time of booking. It is designed to subsidize events and organizations primarily on the basis of need.
Artist Honoraria & Subsidies
Art and photo exhibits are organized differently from regular events at the Rocker Gallery. Artist honoraria and subsidies (towards exhibit production and shipping costs, as well as travel expenses) are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Booking Procedure
Anyone interested in booking an event or curating a film series, lecture, or exhibit, should contact our Gallery coordinator by phone or e-mail. Events are not considered confirmed until our standard “events agreement” has been signed, and the above-mentioned deposit has been received (made payable to “Rudolf Rocker Cultural Centre”).
