THE SHOW

The story of Gwendolyn Magnificent and Bartholomew Spectacular starts with demanding dragon fruits and ends with heartache whispered into the ears of birds and constellations. With performer-operated lighting, water glasses, whirly-winds and a mandolin, they create the sounds and images of a landscape forever altered by regret. And it’s far more fun than a story about a broken heart should let you have. THE PEOPLE Created and performed by Nicolas Di Gaetano and Emily Pearlman based on text by Emily Pearlman directed by Patrick Gauthier lighting design by Lynn Cox costume and prop design by Sarah Waghorn with special winnipeg bonus – art show of images from the brand spanking new Countries Shaped Like Stars storybook, illustrated by Joshua Pearlman

Songs, some audience involvement and a frequently lyrical script round out this sure-fire hit.” – Patrick Langston, Ottawa Citizen “This is the show that the Decemberists would create if they pursued theatre on a break from touring as a band, and if they got Roald Dahl to direct them.” — Amy Salloway, writer/performer
